Reset!

Green Smoothie Cleanse

Remember my post about Toxic Relationships? Well it’s time to fix it! I’ve started the new year off doing a 10-day Green Smoothie Cleanse. The cleanse is supposed to help you reset your digestive system, as well as recalibrate your taste buds to where you will crave healthy foods! It’s a detox that I need to work. I’m so tired of not controlling what foods I put in my mouth, having junk be my go-to choices rather than nutritious items.

So far I am on day 5. I’ve surly experienced some of the side-affects noted in the book; fatigue, headaches, nausea, but I have kept going and I have not cheated. I’ve stuck with the smoothie and snack plan with no diversions! I’m also doing the recommended detox tea, colon cleanse, and liver cleanse supplements. I am so looking forward to achieving this goal and getting a fresh start on a healthier way of eating.

    1. Yess!! How’s it been going for you? I bought celery to snack on, but not really a fan either lol. I tried some with some peanut butter and still can’t get with it lol

      1. It’s going ok. I’m learning to branch out and try more variety. As for the peanut butter, I agree. It’s not so great. lol I prefer almond butter. It’s not as bad as peanut butter. I admit its an acquired taste.

  1. I made it through the 10 days. I didn’t think I was going to make it. It became easier after the fifth day. I’ll still keep drinking these green drinks part of the time.

      1. Well Gil, it was really hard the first 3-4 days. I was a little weak and lightheaded and tired, probably because I had cut my calories more than half by having only the smoothie for my meals. Really, I felt exhausted initially. For my snacks, I ate celery, carrots, and mixed nuts. After that I felt energized and I noticed I began to sleep better. I lost a few pounds as well. The book says you can lose up to 15 pounds. I lost about 8. I am sure that’s because I felt too tired to workout much. I’m good for working out now. My body has adjusted and I feel good. The good thing I noticed is I don’t crave all the bad foods. I developed good eating habits during the cleanse. I plan to follow the modified cleanse, which is two smoothies and a regular meal.
